Q. Cannot find how to create a backing sheet from a cut out A. The problem you are having is that you have not created a tile from one of the images in the pallet first. Use the ecliptic tool 1st (see help file) and cut out the piece you want to use, then click on create tile from the menu.
Then select the image you want for your tile/ backing sheet and put the number 2 into the boxes marked 'overlap' and 'resolution' and then press OK.
This gives you a good starting point for viewing your backing sheet. The higher the numbers you put into these boxes the larger the tile will look.
Just have a play and get an idea of how this works.
Q. Tile saving problem A. When you create the tile effect you are happy with then click the save tile
Button, this will add the tile effect into a folder.
To bring the tile effect back up you need to select the print button
And select the card or sheet size you want. Then tick the box marked
'use tile' and this will bring the tile effect onto the sheet where you can
now stretch and resize.
You can only import 1 tile effect onto the sheet at one time.
Q. How do I bring up my backing sheet? A. Once you have created a tile and saved the effect to bring this back into your project you must first select 'Print' from the menu on the main screen.
This is important because the programme needs to know what size of card you are making to enable it to create the right image size. Once you choose the template from the menu of templates just click on the button.
This will bring up the template along with your main image which you can resize by dragging in or out the black dots. If you want to bring onto the card your tile or backing sheet then put a tick into the 'use tile box' this will bring up a folder called 'Decoupage' and will ask you to select a tile from the list you have created.
Once the tile design appears you can drag this across the template either vertically down or horizontally across. If the tile covers over your image click on the bring forward button as the tile has put a layer over your main image.
Q. How do I get the most images onto my decoupage sheet? A. When you have cut out the decoupage pieces and placed them onto the pallet
You can then select 'Print' from the menu on main screen. This will ask you to 'Print' your card or 'Print' your cut outs.
Select 'Print your card' and this will show you a full selection of card templates remember that the template you choose will determine the size of you cut outs automatically. If you change the size of the image by dragging in the toggles this will also change the cut out sizes.
When you now go to 'Print your cut outs' a large A4 portrait white sheet will appear on the screen, a further five blank sheets are sat behind this 1st sheet.
Now just drag back over from your pallet all the images you want to use for your decoupage sheet. Don't waste any space put the images close together and fill in all the spare white spaces using small images. The white space is the paper that will end up in the bin!!
Q. How can I make a pyramid card? A. This could not be simpler, just import your image from your pictures or image file and once this appear on the main screen just press the 'Pyramage' button.
A selection of shapes will appear and you then select which shape you want or that suits the image. Then select the number of layers you wish to have by putting a figure into the box on the left. Press preview and you will instantly see an example of how the Pyramage will look. If you want to make a change ie shape or layers just change them and press preview.
Once you are happy with the effect and look of the pyramid then click on the Create Pyramid button and the software will automatically cut the shapes to the correct size for you.
